今年最火紅的新進團體必屬The Big Pink。他們的特點在於將電氣化的節拍融入Shoegaze曲式加上入耳的英搖旋律，想當然耳可以聽見無數過往魂魄附著在他們身上，但整體的氛圍並不落入俗套，反而相當新穎且具有當代感。聆聽專輯裡幾首單曲時，很容易的就會上癮，因為就是單純的好聽。The Big Pink所研發出的新公式想必會在未來不遠處發光發熱。
4. Doves - Kingdom Of Rust
Kingdom Of Rust給我的感覺依舊是相當灰色、相當Manchester，有種如同磚牆斑駁的質感，彷若頂著陰雨在無限延伸的公路上騁馳，影像的畫面實屬強烈。第一首歌〈Jetstream〉的電子節奏，彷彿回到他們在Doves前身把玩電子音樂的老本行，聽來非常不錯，而其餘的歌曲也還保留以往的水準，尤愛那種由木吉他所譜寫的迷幻曲調，實在平實到味。

Sonic Youth近年來的音樂朝旋律化的方向發展，可能會有些樂迷不買單，但這次The Eternal卻達到一種噪音吉他與旋律都相互磨合的平衡感，也讓我想到Goo時期的他們。從開頭短小精幹的龐克曲調〈Sacred Trixter〉到最後一首節奏漸快漸緩的〈Massage the History〉都相當爽朗好聽，特別喜歡〈What We Know〉大鼓鼓點與貝斯韻律的結合，加上音高亂序不平衡的電吉他噪音，有種秩序與雜亂並進的感覺。在聽完The Eternal之後，我們知道Sonic Youth的音樂早已獨特的活在歷史的永恆。
